The First Six Years at Maulik Pathshala
July 18, 2026
On 2nd Shrawan (18 July), the National Solution and Research Centre (NSRC) successfully conducted “The First Six Years,” a 2.5-hour interactive parenting session at Maulik Pathshala, facilitated by Dr. Ruja Shrestha. The session brought together 23 enthusiastic parents who came with a shared intention—to better understand their children and learn how everyday parenting experiences can shape a child’s development and well-being.
The session focused on the importance of the first six years of a child’s life, a period when children experience significant emotional, cognitive, and social development. Parents were encouraged to look at development not only through milestones, but also through the small everyday moments that shape a child’s sense of safety, confidence, connection, and understanding of the world. The discussion created space for parents to reflect on how their words, responses, attention, and interactions can influence their children as they grow.
Through practical discussions and relatable examples, the session explored ways parents can respond to children’s big emotions, understand their needs, and build healthier and more secure relationships with them. Rather than focusing on parenting as a set of strict rules, the session encouraged parents to approach their children with patience, understanding, and awareness. The emphasis was on simple, meaningful interactions that can be incorporated into everyday family life and contribute to a child’s emotional and social development.
The session also highlighted that positive parenting is not about being a perfect parent. It is about being present, learning along the way, and creating an environment where children feel heard, supported, and valued. Parents had the opportunity to reflect on their own parenting experiences and consider practical ways to strengthen their relationships with their children while supporting their overall development.
A heartfelt thank you to all 23 wonderful parents who invested their valuable time and energy in learning for their children. Your willingness to pause, reflect, and learn reflects a meaningful commitment to positive parenting and your children’s lifelong well-being. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Maulik Pathshala for inviting NSRC, placing their trust in us, and collaborating to make this meaningful session possible. Your dedication to supporting parents and promoting children’s holistic development is truly appreciated.
