Mental Health Empowerment Tour 2083 Day 1 & Day 2

July 27, 2026

As part of the Mental Health Empowerment Tour 2083, Day 1 & Day 2, the National Solution and Research Centre (NSRC) successfully conducted a Skill-Enhancement Training for Early Childhood Educators for all pre-primary teachers of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality, Bardiya. The training was developed to address critical areas often overlooked in conventional one-day ECD refresher programs, with a strong emphasis on child psychology, mental wellbeing, play-based learning, and inclusive classroom practices. To ensure quality participation, the complete six-hour training was delivered on two separate days to two different groups of schools.

The first training session was held at the hall of Krishnasar Vidhya Niketan, bringing together teachers from Krishnasar Vidhya Niketan, Moonlight Academy, Saraswati English Medium School, River Queen School, Balsansar Academy, and Shree Sharada Secondary School. The second session was organized at the hall of Bardiya Academy, where educators from Shuvakama Academy, Bardiya Academy, and Zenith School participated. Although conducted on different days, both groups completed the same comprehensive curriculum, progressing from interactive icebreakers and collaborative learning activities to demonstration teaching, reflection, and certificate distribution.

Throughout the training, participants explored key topics including early childhood brain development, developmental milestones, play-based and activity-based teaching, storytelling, language and numeracy development, social-emotional learning, emotional regulation, trauma-sensitive teaching, child protection, safeguarding, inclusive education, observation-based assessment, lesson planning, and the creation of low-cost teaching-learning materials. The sessions were designed to be highly practical and experiential, enabling teachers to actively apply new concepts through hands-on activities, peer learning, and classroom simulations rather than relying solely on lectures.

The program achieved meaningful outcomes across both training groups. Every participant designed low-cost teaching-learning materials, practiced demonstration teaching, and developed personalized classroom action plans supported by peer accountability partners. The sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation, active discussion, and a strong commitment from educators to implement child-centered and developmentally appropriate practices in their classrooms. The initiative was further appreciated by the District President of N-PABSON and the President of BERISA for its relevance and quality.

Overall, the Skill-Enhancement Training successfully equipped all participating pre-primary teachers of Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality with practical, evidence-informed strategies to enhance early childhood education. By integrating mental wellbeing, inclusive education, and experiential teaching approaches into everyday classroom practice, the program strengthened teachers' capacity to create safer, more engaging, and developmentally supportive learning environments for young children while contributing to the broader goal of improving the quality of early childhood education in the municipality.
