Mental Health Initiative: At Aloki Care Home, Kupondole

Oct. 3, 2025

The 14th session under the “100 Mental Health Program Initiative” was successfully conducted
at Aloki Care Home, Kupondole, Kathmandu on 17th of Ashoj 2082. This session focused on
supporting the emotional wellbeing of senior citizens through compassionate interaction, active
listening, and meaningful engagement. By creating a warm and respectful environment, the
program encouraged participants to openly share their thoughts, memories, and personal
experiences, helping them feel valued, heard, and emotionally connected.

During the program, facilitators engaged with the elderly residents through one-on-one
conversations aimed at building rapport, strengthening trust, and understanding their perspectives
on mental and emotional wellbeing. Participants also took part in light interactive activities that
promoted joy, comfort, and social connection. These activities helped foster a safe and
supportive atmosphere where residents could interact freely, build meaningful relationships, and
experience a sense of belonging and emotional support.

This step reflects NSRC’s continued commitment to creating safe spaces where individuals can
learn, grow, and strengthen their wellbeing through awareness and compassionate community
engagement. The session was conducted in collaboration with Bright Mind Education Hub,
Street to HOME, and Easy Learning, whose support played an important role in making the
initiative impactful. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our collaborators, supporters, and
well-wishers who continue to stand beside us in changing lives and building a healthier and more
supportive Nepal.
