Mental Health Initiative: Mountain children Home, Budhanilkantha

May 30, 2025

The 12th session under the “100 Mental Health Program Initiative” was successfully conducted
at Mountain Children Home, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu on 16th of Jestha 2082, where NSRC
engaged with approximately 20–25 children in meaningful and interactive mental health
activities. The session focused on helping children understand emotions, recognize their feelings,
and learn the importance of emotional wellbeing in their daily lives. By creating a safe and child-
friendly environment, the program encouraged participants to express themselves openly and
confidently.

During the session, children explored the concept of emotions through engaging discussions and
interactive activities. They learned practical self-care techniques such as journaling, expressive
writing, and breathing exercises to help manage stress and emotions in healthy ways. An
emotional chart activity further helped the children identify, understand, and communicate their
feelings effectively. Alongside these discussions, experiential activities were conducted to
encourage emotional expression, self-awareness, and coping skills in a fun and supportive
atmosphere.

This milestone reflects NSRC’s ongoing commitment to creating safe spaces where young
people can learn, grow, and strengthen their emotional wellbeing through awareness and
compassionate support. The session was conducted in collaboration with Bright Mind Education
Hub, Street to HOME, and Easy Learning, whose support played a valuable role in making the
initiative impactful. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our collaborators, supporters, and
well-wishers who continue to stand beside us in changing lives and building a healthier and more
supportive Nepal.
