Psychological First Aid Training: 5th Batch
April 4, 2026
The National Solution and Research Centre (NSRC) successfully conducted its 5th Batch of
Psychological First Aid (PFA) Training on Chaitra 21 (Saturday). This intensive 3-hour session
was designed to strengthen participants’ practical skills in providing immediate psychological
support during crisis situations. The main aim of the training was to enhance empathy, active
listening, and basic crisis intervention skills so that participants can effectively support
individuals experiencing emotional distress in both personal and professional settings.
The session was facilitated by Psychologist Alisha Adhikari, who guided participants through
interactive discussions and practical learning exercises. The training highlighted that
Psychological First Aid is not only for mental health professionals but is an essential life skill for
educators, managers, students, and community members who may encounter people in emotional
crisis.
Throughout the session, participants engaged in scenario-based activities, reflective discussions,
and skill-building exercises focused on communication, emotional awareness, and supportive
response techniques. These activities helped participants better understand how to remain calm,
empathetic, and non-judgmental while offering immediate psychological support.
The program resulted in improved understanding of psychological first Aid principles and
increased confidence in handling crisis situations with empathy and care. Participants left the session with practical tools for active listening, emotional support, and early intervention. NSRC
continues to promote such hands-on training programs to strengthen community mental health
support systems and promote a more compassionate story.
