Feb. 9, 2024

A one-day Mental Health Workshop was successfully conducted at Kathmandu Model College
for students of Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and bachelor’s in arts (BA) on 16 th of magh
2080, bringing together more than 40 enthusiastic participants for an engaging and insightful
learning experience. The workshop was organized with the objective of promoting mental health
awareness, emotional well-being, and the importance of psychological understanding among
young students pursuing social sciences and humanities.

Throughout the session, participants actively engaged in discussions, reflective activities, and interactive learning focused on understanding mental health, emotional challenges, self-awareness, empathy, and the significance of creating supportive environments within academic and social spaces. The
workshop created a safe and participatory atmosphere where students could openly learn, share
perspectives, and deepen their understanding of mental health and psychosocial well-being.
The session was facilitated by Pawan Sir, Shruti Parajuli, and the dedicated team from National
Solution and Research Centre (NSRC), whose guidance and facilitation made the workshop
meaningful, interactive, and impactful.

Through collaborative discussions and practical insights, the facilitators encouraged participants to recognize the importance of mental health not only in personal life but also in future professional responsibilities. The workshop emphasized empathy, active listening, emotional resilience, and the need to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conversations in society. The active participation and positive engagement of students reflected the growing importance of mental health education among youth and reinforced the value of creating spaces that encourage understanding, compassion, and emotional support within educational institutions.
