100 Mental Health: Shristi Academy
Sept. 21, 2025
The program, held on September 21, 2025 (2082/06/05) at Shristi Academy, Devinagar, Mid-Baneshwor-10, Kathmandu, focused on trauma response, self-care, and mental health promotion for teachers. A total of 14 participants took part in the session.
The session began with an introduction to mental health, using the World Health Organization’s definition, and then explored the concept of trauma—its causes, how the body responds, and the common symptoms people experience. Teachers were introduced to the 4R framework of trauma-informed approaches, practical self-care strategies such as breathing exercises, grounding techniques, gratitude journaling, and progressive muscle relaxation, as well as methods for detecting mental health concerns.
By the end of the session, participants had gained knowledge on trauma and its response mechanisms, effective self-care practices, and the importance of seeking professional support from psychiatrists, psychologists, or social workers when necessary. The training emphasized teachers’ role in recognizing symptoms, responding effectively, and promoting psychosocial well-being in the school environment at Shristi Academy.
