Mental Health & Suicide Awareness: Budhanilkantha Secondary

On Jestha 13, 2082, NSRC conducted a mental health awareness program at Budhanilkantha Secondary School in collaboration with the municipality. The goal was to help students recognize the signs of emotional distress and promote ways to seek help.

The session included a presentation on mental health, followed by a questionnaire, gatekeeper training, and therapeutic activities like the butterfly hug. Students also took part in sharing personal experiences anonymously, which brought attention to their struggles with academic pressure, bullying, and family problems.

Many students said this was their first time discussing mental health so openly. Their active participation and willingness to engage in the discussions showed that they valued the session and wanted to learn more. The program left a strong impact and encouraged students to care for themselves and support their friends.
